Working across a broad range of genres in fiction and nonfiction, I voice stories for children, middle grade readers, young adults (YA), and adults, bringing careful attention and emotional intelligence to each project.
I am continually honing my craft as a narrator and as an audio engineer by training with established coaches in the industry. Good communication with my authors, rights holders, and publishers is a cornerstone of my work ethic.
A naturally warm voice that draws listeners close — conversational without ever losing authority, with the ability to bring characters of all ages to life.
Every manuscript is read in full before recording begins. Characters, rhythm, and emotional arcs are mapped before a single take.
Fluent across genres — from cozy romance to literary drama — with consistent studio-quality delivery.
I record from a quiet, treated basement studio using a Rode NT1 with Focusrite Saffire Pro, and Audacity as my DAW.
Hanna is a trained singer, improviser, performer, and former science communicator who loves a story well told. She cut her acting teeth at ColdTowne Theater in Austin, Texas, graduating from its longform improv program and performing weekly with her troupe, Unfurled, until "twoo wuv" took her to Nebraska. She got a taste for audiobook recording earlier in life while volunteering with the nonprofit Recording for the Blind (now Learning Ally). Her life meandered away from the stage and recording booth (that story includes environmental law, science communication, public relations, and parenting) but in 2025 she returned.
Hanna was raised in Austin, Texas, a child of hippie entrepreneurs who sold crystals at flea markets and renaissance festivals, where she learned to love theater and creative, persuasive expression. She holds degrees in political science and climate science & policy from Wellesley College and Oxford University. She has lived in the Netherlands, the UK, and across the US - Texas, Massachusetts, California, and now Nebraska. She loves to travel broadly, get into nature, and read (also broadly, with an emphasis in sci-fi, fantasy and nonfiction). She studied Spanish in college and speaks it slowly but with love (Mexican accent), and while in the Netherlands she learned some very basic Dutch, so she can roll her 'r's and get throaty if a script calls for it. Hanna enjoys narrating lively tales of adventure and nonfiction books that contribute to the pursuit of knowledge, fulfillment, healing and a better world. If she can make people laugh or cry in the process, all the better.
